Tony Oyenarte elected Vice Chair on the Board of Directors of the American Camp Association


At the Martinsville: American Camp Association Board of Directors elected a long-term camp director from Gainesville, Fla., To Tony Oyenarte, vice chairman.

Oyenarte began his career as a secondary school science and mathematics teacher. He is passionate about youth development and the relationship between children and outdoor camps to start and sustain a 20-year career. He is the director of Crystal Lake Camp 16 Summers (Lawrence Summers) and currently director of camp Lochearn Girl in Vermont.

Oyenarte volunteers and children in the woods, Gainesville, Fla. A program connects children to outdoor activities. He also gives his hand to love, a charitable organization that helps children with congenital limb differences.

Oyenarte has been involved in ACA before serving as a board member in the Southeast local office and as a leader in the ACA Transitional Committee.
